You can now donate online
Our donation form is live, run by Zeffy, which charges nonprofits no platform or card fees — so the whole of a gift reaches the vet. One-off or monthly, and every gift gets an emailed tax receipt. Donate.
News
A rescue run by volunteers changes week to week. This is the page we keep current: events where you can meet dogs, what our foster homes need, and anything that affects how we can help.
Everything here feeds one thing — getting the next dog through the vet and into a home.

We can only take in as many dogs as we have foster homes ready, so every new foster is, quite literally, another dog out of a bad situation. We cover the vet bills and the supplies; you provide a quiet corner and some patience. How fostering works.
Our Form 990-N for the 2025 tax year is on the IRS record, as are 2023 and 2024. It is the annual notice small charities file to keep their 501(c)(3) status, and anyone can look it up by our EIN, 92-2323056.
We took two of our adoptable dogs, Squint and Dotti, to Curtis Lumber’s Pet-A-Palooza adoption day at its Ballston Spa store — the Capital Region event that puts dozens of local shelters and rescues in one parking lot for a Saturday.
The IRS issued our determination letter, recognizing ABC Animal Rescue Incorporated as a tax-exempt public charity with effect from 15 March 2023. Every donation to the rescue since that date has been tax-deductible.
Standing needs
These do not change much, so they do not get their own dated entry — but if you want to know what is genuinely useful, start here.
Email before you drop anything off, so we can tell you which foster needs it and where they are. Please do not leave supplies — or dogs — at anybody’s door unannounced.
Keeping up
We do not run a mailing list. Email us and ask — about a dog, an event or anything else — and we will tell you what is coming up.
Every dog we save is paid for by donations and cared for by volunteers. ABC Animal Rescue Incorporated is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit — gifts are tax-deductible.
